Quality Solutions Consult (QS Consult) was founded by Willy Vandenbrande at the end of 1995.
It is a one-man business but thanks to our contacts with a large group of colleagues (also abroad - see section “Partnerships”) we can offer solutions to a wide range of problems needing an extensive set of  competencies.

From our technical background (civil engineer metallurgy - RUG 1978) we have always been interested in statistics and quality tools to improve products and processes. Jobs in research and development (assistent RUG) and in production and quality (Clark-Hurth Components - now a division of Dana Spicer) have kept this interest alive.

Moreover, in our function as consultant for Procim we have assisted many companies in achieving ISO 9001 certification. This has given us an even wider view on quality in all its aspects.

QS Consult has very good contacts with the quality community in the United States. We are a, ASQ member since 1991 and have risen in the ranks to the level of ASQ Fellow in 2006. We are currently the ASQ country counselor for Belgium. As such we are the local contact for ASQ members. In this capacity we organize all ASQ certifcation exams locally.

Each year we attend the ASQ conference that is currently held under the name WCQI (World Conference for Quality and Improvement). This is one of the reasons why we saw the importance and power of Six Sigma very early on when it was still unknown in Europe.

Quality is about much more than applying a set of tools. Quality is a way of working, a way of treating others. 

Good management is good manners!

Quality management systems can play a part in this, if they are installed in a sensible way. Six Sigma can play a part in this if it is adapted to the needs and possibilities of a company.
No organization is standard and if there is one guiding principle through all of our activities, be it training or consulting, it is this:

Adapt, do not adopt.
