Statistical Methods

PostDateIconMonday, 02 November 2009 01:00 | Print E-mail

The objective of quality is to control processes at an ever higher level to reduce the cost of non quality and to increase profitability. Quality methods in general and statistical methods in particular can play an important role in reaching that objective.

Almost everyone has had a course on statistics during his or her education but very few have become enthusiastic users of statistics.

That's why QS Consult uses the following statement by Sophocles as a guiding principle in courses on statistical methods:

PostQuotekl One must learn by doing. Even if you are convinced that you know something, you can only be sure if you have done it at least once.

Therefore it is important to do exercises during a training but it is even more important to apply what you have learned immediately (preferably during the training period) in your own working environment. This is the best way to embed the knowledge in the organization and to get a return on training. Companies spend millions on training courses, gathering knowledge that is never brought into practice.

For all our courses the following guidelines are valid:

  • For in-company courses the content can be adapted to the specific needs of the customer;
  • The number of participants is limited to 12 to allow sufficient interaction;
  • Each participant can contact us during and after the course if he / she has problems when applying a method. If the problem can be solved by phone or short E-mail, which is often the case, this is free of charge.

Apart from training courses we also offer consulting services on statistical methods. This can consist of actively supporting trainees when they are applying a method for the first time after a training course. We can also act as a member of an improvement team where we add our knowledge of statistical methods to the team's process knowledge.

As ASQ certified Six Sigma Black Belt we can even take the lead of an improvement team, making sure the team works in a structured way using the correct quality tools at the right time. More details can be found under “Six Sigma” and “Lean Six Sigma”

Services offered:

  • Courses in fundamentals of statistics, Statistical Process Control and Capability (SPC), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) and Designed Experiments.
  • Course FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Course Global 8D combined with techniques that can be used for specific problem situations.
  • Consulting on the implementation and application of these methods.
