QS Consult gave a successful presentation at the first ever ASQ conference in Europe. The presentation was titled: “Survival of The Fittest, Quality Tools for the Future”. This presentation will be given in a slightly adapted form as a webinar for the ASQ Blue Ridge section on January 30. More information will be given in the near future on this website.
Berlin was the venue chosen for the first ever quality conference in Europe organized by ASQ. It was the result of a long process, that originated during a Country Counselors meeting in Athens some three years ago.
The conference had about 130 participants from 21 countries , which is not a bad result. The central theme was “The Next Generation of Quality: The Future Is Now” and there many very valuable contributions by speakers on this topic. The consequences of Industry 4.0 and the digital disruption for quality and quality professionals were discussed at length. We heard two exquisite keynote speakers. On Monday, Gregory H. Watson talked about the future of quality and on Tuesday Bharat Wakhlu showed us how leadership of the future should look.
The congress ended with a panel discussion with Greg Watson, Paulo Sampaio and Willy Vandenbrande (see picture). A very active audience participated in this discussion that proved a worthy conclusion to a great conference.
During the conference I spoke with many participants and the reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Many people asked when and where this would be organized the next time. Maybe something to start working on right now?
With special thanks to the ASQ staff present: Marjorie, Michael and Darren.
